	Addition of Measures Against the Pandemic to Kaname BCP
	In view of the infectious spread of the novel coronavirus worldwide, the following measures against the pandemic have been added and applied since June 2020:

	New Construction and Relocation of the office of Seaside 1st Factory
	In May 2020, a new office and storage facility were constructed and relocated to the site where tha 3rd Warehouse had previously stood. The street address has been changed, as follows: Old:14-1, Chikko Hamadera Nishimachi new:13-16 Chikko Hamadera Nishimachi

	Change of General Manager of Sales Department
	In April 2020, Director Tetsuya Shimada left tha position as General Maneger of Sales Department and took office exclusively as the Director of Seaside 1st Factory. Motoya Nakamura, former Maneger of the Sales Department, was promoted to the position of General Maneger of the Sales Department.

	Change of Labels in Accordance with Revised Food Labeling Act
	Following revision of the Food Labeling Act in March 2020, the labels for the following relevant products were changed: Sodium hypochlorite, caustic soda(food additive), white hydrochloric acid

	New Construction of Storage Facility at Seaside 2nd Factory
	A new warehouse for poisonous and deleterious substances was constructed at the former material storage site in December 2019.

	Renewal of ISO 9001:2015 certification
	In July 2018, we renewed our ISO 9001:2015 certification for the Kaname QMS.

Damage from Earthquake and Typhoon

Damage from the earthquake and the typhoon in 2018
Northern Osaka Prefecture Earthquake (occurred on June 18 with seismic intensities of 6 at the epicenter, 4 at the Head Office, and 3 at Seaside 1st and 2nd factories) caused partial damage to the Head Office building. The factories were not affected. Typhoon No.21(occurred on September 4, with maximum wind velocity of at least 50M; the first large typhoon hitting the factories directly since their inauguration) did not affect the Head Office building, but damaged a total of 27 areas at Seaside 1st and 2nd Factories and the Head Office of Kaname Transportation Co.,Ltd. (Ishizu).

	Renewal of the dilution/cooling system for concentrated sulfuric acid
	In June 2017, an old dilution/cooling system for concentrated sulfuric acid was replaced. An auxiliary system was also installed in December.

	Renewal of ISO 14001:2015 certification
	In August 2017, we renewed our ISO 14001:2015 certification for the Kaname EMS.

At the end of May 2017, Kaname's top management was reshuffled as follows.

	Kaname Integrated ISO Manual
	The Kaname QMS and the Kaname EMS Manuals were consolidated into a Kaname Integrated ISO Manual in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 and came into effect in April 2017.

	Renewal of storage tanks
	In FY 2016, Kaname renewd its four 100m³ storage tanks (two for hydrochloric acid and another two for sulfuric acid) at the Seaside 1st Factory and its two 15m³ tanks for acetic acid at the Seaside 2nd Factory.

	Award for contribution to pharmaceutical administration
	In October 2016, President Makoto Shimada received an award for contribution to pharmaceutical administration from the Governor of Osaka Prefecture.

	Expansion fo sodium hypochlorite facilities
	The seaside 1st Factory's facilities for sodium hypochlorite were expanded and went into operetion in July 2016.

Kumamoto Earthquake

Kumamoto was hit by a series of strong earthquakes in 2016, including ones that occurred on April 14 at 9 p.m. and on April 16 at 1 a.m. We extend our deepest sympathies to those who were affected by the disaster.
Kaname Chemicals and its president Makoto Shimada offered decent donations through the Sakai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where Shimada serves as a Class Ⅱ　member, and the Sakai Chemical Industrial Complex Cooperative Association, which Shimada directs, respectively.

Reorganization of the Seaside 1st Factory and change of the registration to handle poisonous and deleterious substances

The conventional Seaside 1st Factory, its adfacent land and buildings purchased for extension, and the conventional Seaside 3rd Factory were consolidated into a new Seaside 1st Factory. The purchased two buildings were turned into the 1st and the 2nd Warehouses, and the former 3rd Factory into the 3rd Warehouse.
At the end of February 2016, an application to revise the registration as a manufacturer/seller of poisonous and deleterious substances was submitted to reflect these changes and was approved (valid from June 20,2015 through June 19,2020)

	Renewal of a storage tank
	In FY 2015, the Seaside 1st Factory's 200m³ storage tank for aluminum sulfate was renewed.

	A letter of commendation received for making accurate and honest tax declarations
	In November 2015, we received a letter of commendation for making accurate and honest tax declarations from the superintendent of the Nishi Tax Office.

	Acquisition of commercial rights
	On August 1,2015, Kaname acquired the entire commercial rights to Koei Chemical, a family-owned company thet wend out of business at the end of July.

	Renewal of ISO 9001:2008 certification
	In July 2015, we renewed our ISO 9001:2008 certification.

Classification and labeling of chemicals according to the GHS standards

We revised the safety data sheets (SDS) for our products to meet the rules of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals(GHS), issued by the United Nations, and made them available at our website on the Products page in July 2014. The information contained in the labels for products offered in containers were updated accordingly,effective for products shipped in or after April 2015.

	Sale of land
	An 863m² site that had been purchased in 2010 and used as a storage area for empty containers was sold to a new member company of the Sakai Chemical Industrial Complex Cooperative Association in March 2015.

Chairman's death and memorial service

Shigeo Shimada, who is one of the founders of Kaname Chemicals and had served the company as president and chairman for many years, passed away on October 31,2014.We extend our deep gratitude to all those who have shown support and kindness to him over the past years.
HIs memorial service, held on December 8 in the same year at Rihga Royal Hotel, was attended by about 830 people. We wish to express our sincere appreciation to them.

Purchase of land and buildings

We purchased 4,034m² of land and two buildings, with floor areas of 946m²(after reduction from 1,111m² due to partial demolition) and 814m², respectively, from Company N, which had been orerating its Sakai Factory at the site adjacent to our Seaside 1st Factory. The sales agreement was signed in August 2014, and the property right was transferred in November.
The land and buildings are located in an area maneged by the Senboku Industrial Complex Cooperative Association.

	Renewal of ISO 14001:2004 certification
	In August 2014, we renewed our ISO 14001:2004 certification.

	Establishment and implementation of the Kaname Business Continuity Plan(BCP)
	In April 2014, we established and started to implement the Kaname BCP to prepare for potential great earthquakes along the Nankai Trough, considering the nature and locations of our business.

	Complete renewal of the Seaside 1st Factory's waste water treatment facility.etc.
	In fiscal 2010 and 2011, we thoroughly inspected the ground, facilities and buildings of the Seaside 1st Factory,which is more than 30 years old, in earthquake resistance and other aspects. In fiscal 2012, the factory's entire electrical installations, including switchboards and wiring, were replaced. The full renewal work of the drainage system began in June 2013 and ended in March 2014.

	Acquisition of land adjacent to the Seaside 2nd Factory
	In February 2014, we purchased 672m² of land adjacent to the Seaside 2nd Factory (for use as a material storage area for the time being).

	Letter of appreciation from Osaka Prefecture's Port and Harbor Bureau
	On August 1, 2013, Kaname Chemicals received a letter of appreciation from the Director-General of the Osaka Prefecture's Port and Harbor Bureau for our continued cooperation on its tree-planting activities in the "Kyosei no Mori" forest in the Sakai 7-3 District since its start in 2006.

	Increase in the authorized cargo tonnage limit of the Seaside 1st Factory's vessel mooring facility
	In October 2012, the maximum cargo tonnage limit of the Seaside 1st Factory's mooring facility was raised to 998 DWT from 702 DWT after we abtained authorization from Osaka Prefecture's Port and Harbor Bureau.

	Renewal of ISO 9001:2008 certification
	In July 2012, we renewed our ISO 9001:2008 certification.

	60th anniversary of founding
	On May 28, 2012, Kaname Chemicals celebrated its 60th anniversary of founding. We could not have reached this milestone without many years of your warm support and patronage. Your continued guidance and assistance will be greatly appreciated.

	Renewal of ISO 14001:2004 certification
	In August 2011, we renewed our ISO 14001:2004 certification.

	Introduction of a second ICP-MS system
	In May 2011, the Seaside 2nd Factory introduced a second ICP-MS system(Agilent 7700S)to its laboratory to meet the need for expanding and advancing analytical operations.

Great East Japan Earthquake

We continue to offer our heartfelt sympathy to the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake,which struck the Tohoku and Kanto regions on March 11,2011.
We received requests from various quarters for emergency shipment of caustic soda and other chemicals that were in short supply in the wake of the earthquake,and we did our utmost to arrange such shipments.
Kaname Chemicals, Kaname Transportation and the Kaname Friendship Association separately offered decent donations through the Sakai Chamber of Commerce and Industry,where Kaname Chemicals President Makoto Shimada serves as a Class Ⅱmember.
We sincerely hope that steady progress will be made in the restoration and reconstruction of the affected areas and in the settlement of the situation at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.

In August 2008, Kaname's entire sites and processes became certified for ISO 14001:2004/JIS Q 14001:2004.

Establishment of the laboratory's branch in the Seaside 1st Factory

The laboratory at the Seaside 2nd Factory had conducted the quality analysis of aoo products of the Seaside 1st Factory (general industrial chemicals, etc.) and the Seaside 2nd Factory (high purity mixed acids,etc.) before. On February 1,2007, a new laboratory branch established in the Seaside 1st Factory started to perform the analysis work for the products produced within the Seaside 1st Factory.

	Appointment of a new president
